Don't know how many are really into it, but the Distant Worlds concert is the FF music played by a live symphony with scenes from the game on a screen.

They are going to be playing tomorrow night in Houston and I'll be going!
I also got an email last week that said this:
Nobuo Uematsu confirmed to attend!

This is the first time it's come to Houston I think and I hope it's a good show.
I go to the Video Games Live concerts too.

Should be pretty amazing.
I'll post some pics if take any worth posting. Wink

I went to the one in San Diego on Thursday. Me and Jawat have been at Comicon all weekend; just got back.

Also got my Dear Friends and More Friends concert programs, a DVD of "Voices," and the Distant Worlds album signed. They didn't have any Distant Worlds programs for sale, so I was a bit sad.

I asked Nobuo what his favorite beer is. Later, I asked him what his favorite American beer is. He really likes beer, which is why I asked him, and I figured he didn't get asked that stuff very often. Me and Arnie had a good conversation about video game concerts in general, and I met a few other nice peoples.

First picture was taken at the post-concert reception, which was about us and 30ish other people, eating munchies and informally having conversations with each other/Arnie/Nobuo. The second picture is the pre-concert meet & greet, which was a lot more people, where we only very briefly got to meet Nobuo and Arnie, had stuff signed, took a picture, and then ushered off for munchies.

Blank-face = Jawat.

Unfortunately they didn't play Dancing Mad, which is what a lot of people were looking forward to. I'd imagine it might have something to do with not having an organ in the outdoor theater, or maybe just not having enough time. Otherwise, great concert, and looking forward to Distant Worlds II if/when it comes again to the area.

I was thinking of going to that concert but they changed the date of the ticket sales and then I remembered I had already gone last year when they were in Seattle, so I said meh. Besides, with ComicCon going on it would have been crazy to find a parking spot. By the way, thanks for letting me know you guys were coming down here, can't believe I missed an opportunity to punt a taru Razz

Also, I'll be going for sure to next year's ComicCon, with all the rumors that it may change location I wanna go before they do, if at all, besides I haven't gone in like 4 years.

Hope you guys had fun at the Con with Uematsu Sama, maybe I'll see you next year.

Awesome Nibu!

The concert they put on in Houston was pretty kickass.
They did the Opera scene from FFVI, with some singers on stage.
Was pretty amazing.
They did One-winged Angel and Nobuo went and sat in with the choir.

After the concert, they had a short Q&A with Arnie and Nobuo.
They asked him, "If you had a pet chocobo, what color would it be?"
Arnie said yellow.
Nobuo made his voice really low and said, "Black Chocobo from hell!" lmao
